
North Durham Fitness is a vibrant, community-focused fitness center dedicated to helping our members achieve their health and wellness goals in a welcoming and supportive environment. We offer a range of classes, from strength training and conditioning to yoga and women’s only strength training, designed for people of all fitness levels. Position Overview:
We are looking for an energetic, personable, and passionate Group Fitness Coach to lead fun, effective, and engaging classes. This role is perfect for someone who loves motivating others, has a strong background in fitness, and knows how to make workouts enjoyable and accessible. Our ideal candidate is someone who can adapt exercises for all levels, build strong relationships with members, and contribute to the positive atmosphere of our gym.
Personal training opportunities are available but not a requirement of the position.
Responsibilities:
-Lead dynamic, safe, and effective group fitness classes (strength, cardio, HIIT, etc.)
-Create a positive and motivating environment for all members
-Adapt workouts to accommodate varying fitness levels and abilities
-Provide feedback and encouragement to help members reach their goals
-Build rapport with members and actively engage with our community
-Assist with class set-up and clean-up
-Stay up-to-date on fitness trends and best practices
Qualifications:
-CrossFit Level 1 or higher preferred
-Certified in Group Fitness, Personal Training, or a relevant fitness specialization (ACE, NASM, AFAA, etc.)
-CPR/AED certification required
-1+ years of experience teaching group fitness classes preferred.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
-Ability to motivate and inspire people of all fitness levels.
-Enthusiasm for health and wellness, and a genuine passion for helping others.
